How to Test Trackpad Gestures

Keyboard & InputBy Simone Park2026-04-07

To test trackpad gestures: open a mouse test for basic click and scroll verification, then test system gestures in your OS. On Windows with a Precision trackpad: go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad to see all supported gestures and customize them. Test two-finger scroll (should scroll web pages smoothly), two-finger pinch-to-zoom, three-finger swipe (task view), and four-finger swipe (desktop switch). On Mac: go to System Settings > Trackpad to see all gestures — test scroll, pinch-to-zoom, rotate, swipe between pages, Mission Control (swipe up with four fingers), and App Expose. If gestures don't work, check that they're enabled in settings. Restart the computer if gestures stopped working suddenly. Disable palm rejection temporarily if trackpad seems unresponsive during testing. Make sure your trackpad drivers are up to date.
