To enable your microphone in Chrome: click the padlock (or tune) icon in the address bar of the website that needs mic access, then set Microphone to Allow and reload the page. For a global default, go to chrome://settings/content/microphone in the address bar — here you can select which mic Chrome uses by default and see which sites are blocked or allowed. If a site was previously blocked, find it in the Blocked list and remove it, then revisit the site and click Allow when prompted. On Windows, also verify that Chrome has OS-level mic access: Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone > make sure Google Chrome is toggled on. On Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone > enable Google Chrome. Restart Chrome after changing OS permissions.
