Test your internet 15 minutes before the interview: run a network test and check three numbers: download speed (need 5+ Mbps), upload speed (need 2+ Mbps), and latency (need under 100ms). If any number is bad, switch to Ethernet, close all other apps and browser tabs, and disconnect other devices from Wi-Fi. If the connection is still poor, have a backup plan: download the meeting app on your phone and keep it ready with cellular data as a fallback. Share the interviewer's meeting link on your phone in advance. During the interview, keep your camera on but disable HD video to reduce bandwidth usage. Close cloud sync apps (Dropbox, OneDrive) and pause any Windows/macOS updates. Position yourself in the room closest to your router. If you're on apartment Wi-Fi, test at the exact time your interview will be — network congestion varies by time of day.
