Echo in Teams occurs when your speakers are too loud and your microphone picks up the playback, or when multiple devices in the same room are connected to the call. The quickest fix: use headphones, which physically prevent the mic from hearing speaker output. If headphones aren't an option, lower your speaker volume and ensure Teams' built-in echo cancellation is working: during a call, click the three dots > Settings > Device settings and confirm your mic and speaker are set correctly. Check that only one device per person is connected — having Teams open on both your laptop and phone in the same room creates echo. In open offices, use a headset rather than speakerphone. If echo persists, mute your mic when not speaking. Teams' noise suppression (set to High) can also help reduce echo feedback.
