Dark webcam video means your camera isn't getting enough light. The fix is almost always about improving your lighting, not adjusting camera settings. Face a window or place a desk lamp directly in front of you and slightly above eye level. Avoid having a bright window or light source behind you — this makes the camera underexpose your face. If natural lighting isn't available, a simple ring light or LED panel facing you works well. In your meeting app, check if there's a brightness adjustment: Zoom has a "Touch up my appearance" and "Adjust for low light" option in Settings > Video. Some webcam software (like Logitech Tune) lets you manually adjust brightness, contrast, and exposure. If the image is consistently dark even with good lighting, your webcam may be using automatic exposure incorrectly — try locking the exposure manually in the camera's control panel.
